He is being held at Cook County Jail on $500,000 bail.

An indictment against Twine recently was handed up, but it was unclear what charges it contains and whether it came before or after Arrington’s death. His death was ruled a homicide, and it is believed prosecutors were looking at whether to upgrade charges against Twine.

Cathy Hufford, a Cook County state’s attorney, said after Thursday’s brief hearing that Twine had been indicted, but that she did not know the charges and the paperwork was not yet in the court clerk’s computer system.

Twine is due to be arraigned July 5 at the Cook County Criminal Courts Building at 26th Street and California Avenue in Chicago.

Arrington’s father, Thomas, said that his son and Twine had been friends since they attended Morgan Park High School together.
