Watsonen-usMon, 06 Apr 2015 09:41:18 -0500WEEK IN REVIEW: Eleven killed throughout Chicagohttp://homicides.suntimes.com/2015/04/06/week-in-review-eleven-killed-throughout-chicago/<p>BY MICHAEL LANSU<br /> Homicide Watch Chicago Editor</p> <p>Nine males were shot to death, and two women were fatally stabbed, throughout Chicago last week.</p> <p>Four of the killings happened over the weekend, when at least 18 other people were shot and wounded.</p> <p>The most recent slaying happened when 42-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/carvis-l-milon/">Carvis L. Milon</a> was shot in the chest while standing on a sidewalk in the 7800 block of South Seeley Avenue in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.</p> <p>Carvis, 8400 block of South Hoyne Avenue, died at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn less than an hour later, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.</p> <p>In the West Englewood community, 16-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/martell-j-lawrence/">Martell Lawrence</a> shot in the head on a sidewalk the 6500 block of South Marshfield Avenue about 12:15 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.<br /> <span id="more-10698"></span><br /> Martell, of the 1700 block of West Marquette Road, died at Holy Cross Hospital less than an hour later, according to the medical examiner’s office.</p> <p>On Friday, police found 18-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/azun-buckner/">Azun Buckner</a> shot numerous times in the 7000 block of South Normal Avenue in Englewood about 2 p.m., authorities said.</p> <p>Buckner, of the 6900 block of South Eggleston Avenue, died at Saint Bernard Hospital less than an hour later, according to the medical examiner’s office.</p> <p>In the Washington Park neighborhood, 22-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/jerome-anderson/">Jerome Anderson</a> was shot multiple times while walking in the 5800 block of South King Drive about 11:30 a.m. Friday, authorities said.</p> <p>Anderson, of the 7900 block of South Wabash Avenue, died less than two hours later at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, authorities said.</p> <p>On Thursday, a 36-year-old man was fatally shot while standing in the 100 block of East 69th Street in Greater Grand Crossing about 8:30 p.m., police said. The medical examiner's office has not yet released his identity.</p> <p>In the West Englewood community, 36-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/charles-gray/">Charles Gray</a> was shot multiple times during an argument outside his home in the 2100 block of West 71st Place about 2:05 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.</p> <p>Gray died at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County less than an hour later, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.</p> <p>On Wednesday, 58-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/suspects/howard-hunt/">Howard Hunt</a> fatally stabbed 28-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/joyce-a-terrell/">Joyce Terrell</a> during a domestic fight inside their home in the 6800 block of South Jeffrey Boulevard in the South Shore community, authorities said. Hunt was charged with first-degree murder and will be back in court later Monday.</p> <p>In the Chicago Lawn community, 16-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/dujuane-hall/">DuJuane Hall</a> was shot in the shoulder in the 3000 block of West 71st Street about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said. After being shot, he ran into a backyard and collapsed, police said.</p> <p>DuJuane, of the 7200 block of South Whipple Street, died less than an hour later at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the medical examiner's office. An autopsy determined the bullet entered his left shoulder and went into the chest area.</p> <p>On Tuesday, 49-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/suspects/gerald-a-watson/">Gerald Watson</a> fatally stabbed <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/susan-mangino-watson/">Susan Mangino-Watson</a> then turned the knife on himself in a domestic murder-suicide at their home in the 2800 block of North Maplewood Avenue in Avondale, authorities said. Both were dead at the scene when police found them about 12:10 p.m.</p> <p>In West Englewood, police found 16-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/savon-davis/">Savon Davis</a> lying on the ground in the 1200 block of West 57th Street about 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, authorities said.</p> <p>Davis, of the 5600 block of South Bishop Street, was shot several times and died at Stroger Hospital less than an hour later, authorities said.</p> <p>The killings started when 24-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/keith-stokes/">Keith Stokes</a> was shot multiple times while driving in the 5700 block of South Morgan Street in Englewood about 1:50 p.m. last Monday, authorities said.</p> <p>Stokes, of the 6200 block of South Campbell Avenue, drove to the nearby intersection South May and Wet 56th streets, where he died, authorities said.</p> <p>Overall, the medical examiner’s office has ruled at least 92 Chicago deaths in 2015 a homicide.</p> Michael LansuMon, 06 Apr 2015 09:41:18 -0500http://homicides.suntimes.com/2015/04/06/week-in-review-eleven-killed-throughout-chicago/Jerome AndersonAzun BucknerSavon DavisCharles GrayDuJuane HallMartell J.
