http://homicides.suntimes.com/suspects/tyren-reese/Latest news about Tyren Reeseen-usWed, 13 Jul 2016 16:16:19 -0500http://homicides.suntimes.com/2016/07/13/third-man-charged-with-2014-fatal-shooting-of-17-year-old-demond-avant-in-austin/<p>A third man has been charged with the shooting death of 17-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/demond-avant/">Demond Avant</a> in the West Side Austin neighborhood about a year and a half ago.<br /> <img src="http://wordpress.homicidewatch.org/chicago/files/2016/07/395596-240x300-240x300.jpg" alt="Tyren Reese | Chicago Police" width="240" height="300" class="size-medium wp-image-19199" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Tyren Reese | Chicago Police</p><br /> <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/suspects/tyren-reese/">Tyren Reese</a>, 23, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Avant on Dec. 3, 2014, according to Chicago Police.</p> <p>About 9:25 p.m. that day, Avant was standing on the sidewalk in the 600 block of North Mayfield when someone got out of a nearby van and opened fire, striking him in the head, police said at the time.</p> <p>Avant, of the 1000 block of North Monitor, was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead at 10:10 p.m., authorities said.</p> <p>Reese was arrested Monday afternoon in the 4000 block of West Polk, police said.</p> <p>Judge Donald Panarese Jr. ordered Reese held on a $1 million in bond court Wednesday.
