Andre Johnson fatally shot in West Englewood

Andre B. Johnson Jr. was shot to death in the West Englewood neighborhood early Sunday.

Johnson, 29, was sitting in the front passenger's seat of a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of West 72nd Street when somebody waled up an opened fire at 4:47 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.

Johnson, of an unidentified home address, was shot in the head and died at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office, which ruled the death a homicide.

Nobody has been charged for the murder.

Area South detectives are investigating.
