The victims were found in a car about 8:35 p.m. in the 4700 block of South Fairfield, Chicago Police said.</p> <p><a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/michelle-adrian-cano/">Michelle Adrian Cano</a>, 21; <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/joel-sandoval/">Joel Sandoval</a>, 24; <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/miguel-sandoval/">Miguel Sandoval</a>, 27; and <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/ida-arvizu/">Ida Arvizu</a>, 28, were all pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.</p> <p>Friends said the Sandovals were brothers, and Joel Sandoval was the father of Arvizu's unborn son and 7-year-old daughter.</p> <p>Chicago Police Sgt. Al Stinites said officers were responding to a call of shots fired when they found the four dead in the vehicle. Patrols in the 9th District were being stepped up Friday night in response to the killings, believed to be the result of an escalating turf war between two local gangs. Police and the local alderman said the killings were just the latest flare-ups in the ongoing gang war in Brighton Park and Back of the Yards.</p> <p>In other shootings last week:</p> <ul> <ul> <li>A woman was killed and two people were wounded in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood Sunday evening on the Southwest Side. About 8:20 p.m., they were sitting inside a parked vehicle in the 6000 block of South Richmond when a man got out of a silver vehicle and fired shots, according to police. The woman, identified as 42-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/catherine-barnett/">Catherine Barnett</a>, was struck in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Barnett lived on the same block as the shooting. A 37-year-old man was shot in the chest, and was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said. A bullet grazed a third person in the nose, but they refused treatment and were uncooperative with officers, police said.</li> </ul> </ul> <p><span id="more-28467"></span></p> <ul> <li>A 23-year-old man was killed Sunday afternoon when he was shot multiple times in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/juan-bahena-jr/">Juan Bahena Jr.</a> was in a vehicle at 4:32 p.m. when someone in a tan minivan opened fire in the 2400 block of South Western, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Bahena was shot in the neck, thigh and buttocks; and pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital. He lived in the Southwest Side West Elsdon neighborhood.</li> <li>A 30-year-old man was shot to death early Sunday in the West Side Austin neighborhood. About 3:05 a.m., <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/anthony-white-09-17/">Anthony White</a> was in the 500 block of North Leclaire when someone shot him in the chest from an SUV, police said. White was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died, police said. He lived in the Southwest Side Lawndale neighborhood.</li> <li>A 41-year-old man was shot to death during a fight early Sunday in the South Shore neighborhood. About 3 a.m., <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/jesse-a-bennett/">Jesse A. Bennett</a> was in an argument with another man who pulled out a handgun and fired shots in the 2700 block of East 75th Street, according to police. Bennett was shot in the face and was pronounced dead at the scene. He lived in Chicago Lawn.</li> <li>A man has been charged with fatally shooting another man multiple times in the head during an argument Saturday evening in the Far South Side Jeffery Manor neighborhood. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/suspects/delton-bates/">Delton Bates</a>, 42, was charged with murder for the shooting in his driveway in the 9700 block of South Merrion, according to police. He and <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/darrius-buckley/">Darrius Buckley</a>, 33, were arguing at 8:47 p.m. when Bates allegedly took out a gun and shot him multiple times in the head, police and the medical examiner’s office said. Buckley, who lived nearby, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bates was arrested in the driveway about 10 minutes after the shooting.</li> <li>A man was killed in a shooting Saturday morning in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/maurice-king/">Maurice King</a>, 21, was walking to his vehicle at 10:11 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 58th when a male approached and fired shots at him, according to police. King suffered two gunshot wounds to each shoulder and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.About 6 hours later, <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/suspects/anthony-culpepper/">Anthony Culpepper</a> was arrested after he was seen driving King's car, which had been taken after the shooting, police said. The 18-year-old was later charged with first-degree murder and ordered held without bond.</li> <li>A man was shot dead Friday morning in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. Officers responding to a call of shots fired at 11:14 a.m. found 23-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/micah-brown/">Michah Brown</a> lying unresponsive in the 6400 block of South Talman with a gunshot wound to his chest, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He had been shot by the someone in a passing vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene. He lived in the Gresham neighborhood.</li> <li>A man was shot to death early Thursday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. Officers responded to a call of shots fired at 2:09 a.m. and found 24-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/dantrell-morgan/">Dantrell Morgan</a> in a grassy area of the sidewalk in the 7100 block of South Carpenter, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He had been shot in the left side of his body. Morgan was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead about 8 hours later.</li> <li>A 40-year-old man was fatally shot early Wednesday on the Near West Side. At 12:03 a.m., <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/jawon-jermaine-garrett/">Jawon "Doola" Garrett</a> was with a group of males in the 2300 block of West Madison when two males walked up and fired shots, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Garrett suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later. He lived in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.</li> <li>A man was found shot to death early Tuesday in Austin. Officers responding to reports of a person down at 4:42 a.m. in the 5000 block of West Monroe found 32-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/isaac-l-hughes-allen/">Isaac L. Hughes-Allen </a>lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the face, according to police and the medical examiner's office. Hughes-Allen was pronounced dead at the scene. He lived in the Northwest Side Belmont Cragin neighborhood.</li> <li>A 25-year-old west suburban man was fatally shot in the head Tuesday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/angelo-terrell/">Angelo Terrell</a> was standing outside at 3:38 p.m. in the 300 block of South Kilbourn when another male walked up, pulled a handgun and opened fire, according to police and the medical examiner's office. Terrell, a Bellwood resident, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead less than 30 minutes later.</li> <li>A 17-year-old boy was shot to death early Tuesday in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/antonio-monteza/">Antonio Monteza</a> was at a gas station about 2:40 a.m. in the 7500 block of North Sheridan when another male walked up and opened fire, striking him in the head and abdomen, according to police and the medical examiner's office. Monteza was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. Damijwan Bonds and Anthony White were 18-year-olds who lived on the South Side. You might not think they had much in common, and the likely didn't. Except they were both homicide victims in Chicago.</p> <p>The three were among 15 more people who died violently in the city last week, bringing the total ever closer to 400 for the year (a landmark reached on Thursday night) and ahead of last year's total of nearly 800, highest in two decades.</p> <p>Moore was walking home from a store about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 7100 block of South State when two cars sped past with people inside firing shots at each other, Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Moore, of Jeffery Manor, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.</p> <p>Moore's nephew, former UIC head basketball coach Howard Moore, said on social media that he was "stunned and devastated" when he learned his uncle was killed in "gang crossfire."</p> <p>Bonds man shot to death Sunday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. He suffered gunshot wounds to both legs about 9 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Damen, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He showed up at Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead an hour later, authorities said. He lived about three blocks away from the shooting.<br /> <span id="more-27303"></span></p> <p>White was killed in a shooting that also left a teenage boy wounded Sunday afternoon in Park Manor. At 12:13 p.m., they were outside in the 7000 block of South Vernon when they were approached by people who opened fire, according to police. White was shot in the back and neck, and took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where he died minutes later, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the same neighborhood. The boy suffered a “minor” gunshot wound to the foot and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was in good condition.</p> <p>In other shootings last week:</p> <ul> <li>One man was killed and three others wounded in a shooting Sunday morning in the South Side Avalon Park neighborhood. The men were shot about 5:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 82nd Street, according to police.<a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/lavondell-c-noble/"> Lavondell C. Noble,</a> 40, suffered gunshot wounds to the neck and right hand; and a 23-year-old was shot in the face, police and medical examiner’s office said. They both showed up at South Shore Hospital, where Noble, a South Shore resident, died at 8:03 a.m, the medical examiner’s office said. The 23-year-old’s condition was not immediately known. A 31-year-old man was shot in the groin and back, police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized. A 34-year-old man was shot in the left forearm and was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where his condition was stabilized, police said.</li> <li>A 35-year-old man was shot to death early Sunday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.<a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/michael-pierre-carter/"> Michael Pierre Carter </a>was sitting in a parked vehicle at 2:06 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Chicago when a male suspect walked up and fired shots, according to police and the medical examiner's office. Carter suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He lived in the same neighborhood.</li> <li>One man was killed and another seriously wounded in a Marquette Park neighborhood shooting Saturday evening on the Southwest Side.<a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/tayvion-roberson/"> Tayvion Roberson,</a> 18, was standing outside with a 56-year-old man at 9:41 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 7100 block of South Artesian when another male walked up and opened fire, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Roberson was shot in the back and chest, and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He lived in southwest suburban Oak Lawn. The older man suffered a gunshot wound to the side and was listed in serious condition at Christ.</li> <li>A 23-year-old man was shot to death Friday night in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side. Officers responded at 10:19 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the 8800 block of South Eggleston, where they found <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/brendon-frazier/">Brendon Frazier</a> with gunshot wounds to the buttocks and side, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Frazier, who lived nearby, was pronounced dead at the scene.</li> <li>A 21-year-old man was shot to death Thursday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side. About 9:05 p.m.,<a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/jaron-jackson/"> Jaron Jackson</a> was standing outside in the 2000 block of South Pulaski near the Pink Line station when another male approached and fired shots, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Jackson, who lived several blocks away, was shot in the neck and back. He was pronounced dead at the scene 20 minutes later, authorities said. No one was in custody for the shooting Friday morning.</li> <li>A 37-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting Thursday afternoon in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/izat-morrar/">Izat Morrar </a>was on the sidewalk at 3:52 p.m. in the 5300 block of South Calumet when a vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire, according to police and the medical examiner's office. Morrar was shot multiple times in the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene. He lived in the Loop.</li> <li>A 28-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday night in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the South Side. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/michael-peterman/">Michael Peterman</a> invited an acquaintance to his home about 10:50 p.m. in the 1600 block of West 18th Place, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. The male guest pulled out a gun a short time later and shot Peterman in the abdomen before running away. He was pronounced dead at the scene.</li> <li>A 56-year-old man was killed in a shooting early Tuesday in the East Chatham neighborhood on the South Side. At 1:26 a.m., a male got out of a red Chevrolet Camaro in the 8400 block of South Maryland and opened fire, striking <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/marcelle-p-rey/">Marcelle P. Rey</a> in his chest, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Rey, who lived in the Logan Square neighborhood, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead an hour later.</li> <li>A man was shot dead Monday night in the South Side Grand Crossing neighborhood. Police responded about 9:40 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the 7900 block of South Chicago and found the man lying unresponsive in a vacant lot. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/tony-haywood/">Tony Haywood</a>, 25, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.</li> <li>Two men were shot and killed Monday afternoon in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood, including a member of a notorious local rap group. Officers responded to a shooting about 2:50 p.m. in the 6300 block of South St. Lawrence and found one man in front of a home with a gunshot wound to the head, and a second man in the back gangway with gunshot wounds to the back and arm, according to police. <p><a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/stanley-jacoby-mack/">Stanley Jacoby Mack</a>, 31; and <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/jermaine-robinson/">Jermaine Robinson</a>, 26, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office. Mack lived in Austin, and Robinson lived in South Shore. Autopsies Tuesday found both men died of multiple gunshot wounds.</p> <p>Robinson, who performed as FBG Brick, was the older brother of FBG Duck, a member of the controversial Fly Boy Gang or FBG. That group, known for its high-profile feuds with Chief Keef and Edai, released a number of songs dissing rival rappers.
