Benjamin Robles | Homicide Watch Chicago news about Benjamin Roblesen-usWed, 23 Aug 2017 09:36:17 -0500Husband and father Benjamin 'Benji' Robles shot to death while vehicle stopped at red light in Brighton Park<p><iframe src="" width="100%" height="350" frameborder=0></iframe></p> <p>A man gunned down early Sunday in Brighton Park has been identified as 30-year-old <a href="">Benjamin "Benji" Robles</a>, a husband and father from the Southwest Side Clearing neighborhood.</p> <p>Robles was in a vehicle about 5:10 a.m., stopped at a light in the 3800 block of South Archer, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.</p> <p>Another vehicle approached and someone inside fired multiple shots, police said.</p> <p>Robles suffered gunshot wounds to the head, neck and arm; and subsequently crashed his vehicle, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.</p> <p>He lived in the Southwest Side Clearing neighborhood.</p> <p><a href="">A GoFundMe page set up to help the family</a> with expenses had raised more than $10,000 toward a $15,000 goal in just one day.</p> <p>The page's author called Robles "the most loving father, husband, son, and friend." The Curie High graduate worked at Bob's Discount Furniture, and leaves behind a wife and 3-year-old son.</p> <p>A friend wrote on Facebook: "I don't think I ever saw Benji without that smile on his face and it truly made you feel at ease and in a better mood."</p> <p>Visitation and wake will be conducted from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, August 26, at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 S Oak Park Ave. in Stickney.
