Donald Hall, 53, killed in Austin shooting

A 53-year-old man was shot to death in the Austin community Sunday night.

Police responding to a call of shots fired found Donald Hall lying in the street in the 4900 block of West Lake Street about 7:10 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.

Hall, of the 4800 block of West Race Avenue, was shot in the back and died at Mount Sinai Hospital where less than an hour later, authorities said.

Nobody has been charged for the killing.

Area North detectives are investigating if the shooting was gang related, police said.

Less than five minutes later, a 27-year-old man was shot while standing on a sidewalk in the 100 block of North Cicero Avenue in Austin in an apparently unrelated shooting, police said. The medical examiner’s office has not yet released his name.
