McDonald walked up to Lewis and a group of people standing outside, pulled a gun and started shooting.</p> <p>Lewis was shot multiple times and dropped off at Northwestern Memorial, where he later died, according to police.</p> <p>One of the witnesses who was standing with Lewis also pulled a gun and started firing at McDonald, who was hit several times, prosecutors said. McDonald then dropped his gun and collapsed. He was taken to Northwestern with multiple gunshot wounds.<br /> <span id="more-15228"></span></p> <p>Police found the gun, and also six shell casings which matched bullets from McDonald’s gun, prosecutors said. </p> <p>Judge William Hooks sentenced McDonald to 50 years in prison Monday, according to court records. Police initially said the shooting occurred in the 500 block of West Pearson.<span id="more-1680"></span></p> <p>McDonald, who is a known Gangster Disciple, according to prosecutors, remains at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.</p> <p>According to prosecutors, McDonald walked up to Lewis and a group of people standing outside, pulled a gun and started shooting. He was identified as <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/donald-lewis/" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://homicides.suntimes.com']);">Donald Lewis</a>, of the 2600 block of West 12th Place, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.<br /> <span id="more-1603"></span><br /> A 23-year-old man was also shot in the leg and treated in good condition, also at Northwestern.</p> <p>Circumstances surrounding the shooting were not yet known as Area Central detectives investigate.
