DNAinfo reports that 23-year-old Eduardo Jamarillo, shot and killed in West Pullman last night, lost his brother eight months ago. Jamarillo died in an apartment hallway, apparently chased there by his assailants, according to a neighbor. She said he was a hard-working young man. Read more here.

A man was found shot to death in the South Side Pullman neighborhood Thursday night with a bullet wound to the head.

The body of Eduardo Jamarillo was found in the 300 block of East Kensington Avenue, several blocks from his home about 8:35 p.m., authorities said.

The 23-year-old, who lived in the 11700 block of South Front Avenue, was killed in what police believe to be a gang-related shooting. Officers found him unresponsive at the scene, police said.

Jamarillo’s body was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office where he was officially pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m.

No one was in custody Friday morning, police said.
