Carter1 dead, 1 injured after Lawndale shootinghttp://homicides.suntimes.com/2013/07/15/1-dead-1-injured-after-lawndale-shooting/<p>A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured late Sunday after gunmen opened fire on the two while they sat in a parked car in the Lawndale neighborhood.</p> <p>Authorities said 35-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/ernest-j-carter/" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://homicides.suntimes.com']);">Ernest J. Carter</a> and the woman were sitting in a car in the 4000 block of West Cullerton Street when the two male shooters walked up and opened fire on the two from behind about 11 p.m.</p> <p>Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to the back. Carter, of the 4000 block of West 21st Street, died at the hospital, authorities said.
