Eugenio Solano Killed in Shooting

“In the night’s one fatality, Eugenio Solano, a 23-year-old alleged gang member, was slain and a 44-year-old man was wounded when shots rang out about 8:05 p.m. in the Logan Square neighborhood, authorities said.

The two were walking in the 1800 block of North Francisco when three men approached and asked for directions, police said. Then one of the men pulled out a gun and opened fire. The 44-year-old man was shot in the hand as he ran away. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and later released.

Solano, of the of the 1700 block of North Francisco, was shot in the chest and died at the scene, less than a block from home, authorities said.”
