Another man approached and grabbed Alexander from behind, pulling him away from Redditt, police and prosecutors said.</p> <p>Redditt then pulled out a handgun and hit Alexander three times in the face, before shooting him in the head, prosecutors said.<br /> <span id="more-22715"></span><br /> <img src="http://wordpress.homicidewatch.org/chicago/files/2016/12/LamontAlexander-225x300.jpg" alt="Lamont Alexander | Facebook" width="225" height="300" class="size-medium wp-image-22728" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Lamont Alexander | Facebook</p></p> <p>Alexander, who lived on the same block as the shooting, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:24 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.</p> <p>After the shooting, Redditt grabbed the gun’s magazine, ran from the scene, and was picked up by a car about a block away, prosecutors said.</p> <p>The man who had grabbed Alexander from behind stayed at the scene and spoke with police, telling them he saw Redditt with the gun, prosecutors said. There were also witnesses to the shooting who gave a physical description of Redditt.</p> <p>Redditt later admitted to a third party that he had shot Alexander, prosecutors said.</p> <p>During Thursday’s hearing, Judge Peggy Chiampas ordered Redditt held in the Cook County Jail on a $350,000 bond, court records show. Officers found <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/frankie-gutierrez/">Frankie Gutierrez</a> unresponsive in the passenger’s seat just after 7 a.m. in the 800 block of North Avers, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.</p> <p>Gutierrez was pronounced dead on the way to Mount Sinai Hospital.<br /> <span id="more-14654"></span></p> <p>A man was killed in a Gage Park neighborhood shooting Friday evening. Officers found 64-year-old <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/jose-arreola/">Jose Arreola</a> unresponsive on a sidewalk in the 5100 block of South Troy with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and legs at 7:09 p.m., police and the medical examiner’s office said.</p> <p>Arreola, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died, authorities said.</p> <p><a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/lamont-alexander/">Lamont Alexander</a> was fatally shot Friday afternoon in North Lawndale. He died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide.</p> <p>A 63-year-old school bus driver was shot to death Thursday morning in the West Pullman neighborhood. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/anthony-bowers/">Anthony Bowers</a> was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head about 6 a.m. in the 12000 block of South Michigan Avenue, according to police and the medical examiner's office.</p> <p>Bowers, who lived on the same block, was pronounced dead at the scene.</p> <p>A 22-year-old man died a day after being shot in the head near the CTA’s Kimball Brown Line station Monday evening.</p> <p><a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/gabriel-claudio/">Gabriel Claudio</a> was standing outside in the 4700 block of North Kimball about 5:30 p.m. when someone walked out of an alley and started shooting, striking him in the head, arm and thigh, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.</p> <p>Claudio was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died about 25 hours later, authorities said. </p> <p>The week's first homicide was 16-year-old boy shot to death early Tuesday in the East Chatham neighborhood. <a href="http://homicides.suntimes.com/victims/tysean-rollins/">Ty'Sean D.
