Leonard WIlliams-Tate killed in Austin drive-by that left two other men wounded

Leonard J. Williams-Tate died after a drive-by shooting that left two other men wounded late Friday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The three men were standing on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of North Mayfield about 11:20 p.m. when someone in a passing vehicle shot them, Chicago Police said.

Williams-Tate, 31, was shot in his right side and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 5100 block of West Wabansia.

The two other victims, 33 and 28, were =shot in the right leg. One was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood and the other to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said. Their conditions had both stabilized.
