The males were shot about 6:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of East 71st Street, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala, citing preliminary information.
Tyrone Solesberry , 39, was shot and killed and another male was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Solesberry , of the 7000 block of South Paxton Avenue, was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
