A west suburban Forest Park man died after he was found shot inside a van near the Eisenhower Expressway on the West Side, authorities said.

Gregory Bady, 28, was shot about 4:30 a.m. at a gas station in the 5200 block of West Jackson Boulevard in the Austin neighborhood, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The man then drove himself to the 600 block of South Kostner Avenue, which is near an expressway onramp and where authorities found him, police said.

Illinois State Police said the shooting did not occur on the expressway and that Chicago Police are handling the investigation.

Bady, of the 7400 block of Washington Street in Forest Park, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:03 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The two far right eastbound lanes on the expressway were closed between Keeler and Kostner as investigators collected details, State Police said.
