Tweets by @ChicagoHomicideA 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Thursday night in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 9 p.m. in the 8600 block of South Ashland Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs. The young man was shot once in the face and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the death, but could not provide additional details pending notification of family. Police said the victim had documented gang affiliation.
No one is in custody and Area South detectives are investigating.
