A man was fatally stabbed during a domestic disturbance in the Lawndale neighborhood Thursday morning on the West Side.
The man — identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as 35-year-old Willie Wimberly — was stabbed about 8:45 a.m. in the 1900 block of South Spaulding Avenue, police said.
The stabbing happened a block from the Ogden District police station at 3315 W. Ogden Ave. When officers arrived, paramedics were taking the man to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Wimberly, of the 2100 block of West Warren Boulevard, was declared dead at 9:25 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
Police said the stabbing appears to be the result of a domestic conflict.
Area Central detectives are questioning a suspect, but no charges have been filed as of Thursday evening, police said.
