A woman died Saturday after she was shot in the neck last Friday night in the Lawndale neighborhood.
Quintana Love, 27, was one of three people shot about 11:25 p.m. May 17 in the 1200 block of South Kolin Avenue, authorities said.
Police said the gunmen approached on foot and fired shots from an alley, but according to witnesses the victims were attending a party for a prom when a van traveling on Kostner shot through a gangway and shot the victims in the alley.
Love, of the 1300 block of South Tripp Avenue, was shot in the neck and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she died at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, according to a spokesman from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
A 38-year-old man was shot in the back and taken in serious condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, and a 38-year-old woman was shot in the right arm and taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Three assault weapons were recovered in an alley, police said.
Area North detectives are investigating.
