Gage Park teen killed in gang-related shooting

A gang-related shooting left one teenage boy dead, and another seriously hurt in the Southwest Side Gage Park neighborhood.

Fifteen-year-old Miguel Villegas was killed when a shooter came out of an alley and opened fire on the two teens about 6:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Washtenaw Avenue, authorities said.

Villegas, of the 5100 block of South Mozart Street, died minutes later at Mount Sinai Hospital from a bullet that struck him in the flank, authorities said.

The other boy, also 15, was shot in the back and shoulder and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.
