A west suburban man died Wednesday, three days after he was wounded in a West Side shooting, authorities said.
Derrick Burrows, 30, of Hillside was shot in the chest and arm, and suffered a graze wound to the head, in the 5200 block of West Quincy Street on Sunday night, police said.
He was initially taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, but was later taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.He was pronounced dead there at 7:22 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
A Thursday autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled the death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
