A man died Thursday morning after being shot in the head early Wednesday in the South Shore neighborhood.
The man, 18, was driving past a crowd in the 7500 block of South Oglesby Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when he was shot in the head, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.
The man was identified as Tracey Gipson of the 7600 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and later transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Zala said. He died at Stroger Hospital at 4:39 a.m. Thursday, the medical examiner’s office said.
Area South detectives investigated.
