Jacobi Herring shot to death in South Chicago

Jacobi Herring was shot to death early Saturday in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 4 a.m. in the 2400 block of East 79th Street, police said.

Herring, 21, of the 7900 block of S. Oglesby, was found unresponsive on the scene, and had been shot multiple times in the head and body, police said.

He lived in the 7900 block of South Oglesby Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
