A man was fatally stabbed early Saturday in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
Robert Gonzalez, 21, was on the sidewalk in the 5600 block of West Barry Ave. about 2 a.m. when four males approached and stabbed him multiple times, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
Gonzalez, of the 2800 block of East 127th Street, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:47 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The stabbing may have stemmed form an earlier fight, Mirabelli said.
Area North detectives are investigating.
