An Austin man died Wednesday, more than a month after he was critically hurt in a shooting on the West Side.
The 23-year-old man was outside in the 1100 block of North Waller Avenue when he was shot multiple times in the chest and back at 11:33 p.m. Aug. 8, police said at the time.
Lamarius Tatum, of the 900 block of North Laramie Avenue, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he died at 6:23 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Police offered few details immediately following the shooting, saying residents would not come forward when investigators combed the neighborhood for witnesses.
Area North detectives are investigating.
