A 24-year-old man shot in the head Sunday afternoon in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood has died.
Geremy Hoover was shot in the head about 1:13 p.m. in the 7200 block of South Wentworth Avenue, authorities said.
Hoover, of the 7200 block of South Yates Boulevard, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
On Wednesday, three days after he was shot, Hoover died. He was pronounced dead at 8:49 p.m., according to the Medical Examiner.
Area South detectives were investigating, though no arrests have been made.
