A man who was stabbed multiple times during a gang-related brawl in the Southwest Side Clearing neighborhood died Monday morning, according to authorities.
Jesse Gonzalez, 18, of the 6100 block of South Rockwell Street, was pronounced dead about 7:40 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Gonzalez was stabbed about 1:35 a.m. Monday in the 6500 block of South Kilpatrick Avenue during a street fight with about three other people, authorities said.
One person is thought to have struck him in the head, while another stabbed him, said police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
Police suspect the stabbing was gang-related, he said.
No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated.
