Iman Frison was ordered held without bond for allegedly shooting Andre Hunter at least five times Thursday afternoon in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Hunter and a friend had just exited a store at East 79th Street and South Vincennes Avenue when Frison approached about 2:35 p.m. Dec. 19 and asked the pair where they were from, prosecutors said.
Frison then placed a revolver on Hunter’s chest in the 7700 block of South Stewart Avenue, prosecutors said. Hunter pushed the gun away and Frison allegedly shot him.
Hunter fell to the ground and Frison shot him five more times, prosecutors said. Frison ran away after the shooting.
Hunter, 19, of the 7900 block of South Princeton Avenue, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died about an hour later, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Witnesses saw Frison running away and told a nearby police officer what happened, prosecutors said. Frison was captured a short time later.
Frison, 18, of the 1700 block of East 72nd Street, will be back in court Dec. 23.
