Authorities: August Galladay fatally shot by father during Armour Square argument

A 67-year-old man is in police custody for allegedly fatally shooting his son early Tuesday in the Armour Square neighborhood.

The man shot his son, 25-year-old August Galladay, in the chest during an argument in a home in the 3700 block of South Wells Street, authorities said.

Galladay, who lived on the block, died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 1:19 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Area Central detectives are questioning the father, but no charges have been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.
