Two men shot to death in apparent South Side home invasion

Two men were shot to death after an apparent home invasion Sunday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Chicago Police were called about 5 a.m. Sunday to an apartment in the 9100 block of South Commericial Avenue. The caller said a man had been shot in a neighboring apartment and turned up at the neighbor’s door for help, police said.

The injured man collapsed in the neighbor’s apartment and was dead by the time officers arrived.

Police found a second man shot to death in the building.

On Monday, the Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the men as 35-year-old Salah Yousef Jaber Muhieddin and 18-year-old Harb Ibraihim Yousef Mohyddin.

Police are investigating the shooting as an apparent home invasion, police said.
