Alex Anderson was shot to death Monday night by an acquaintance in the Portage Park neighborhood.
Anderson, 19, was riding in a vehicle with an acquaintance who shot him in the 4300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Monday, said authorities.
Anderson suffered gunshot wounds to the left arm and abdomen, authorities said. After being shot, he got out of the vehicle and walked to his home in the 5000 block of West Cullom Avenue.
Emergency crews responded to his home and took him to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died at 4:42 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
As news of Anderson’s death broke, friends and acquaintances took to social media to express their grief and condolences:

Nobody has been charged in the killing.
Area North detectives are investigating.
