A Pilsen resident fatally shot Mario Viramontes during an alleged break-in Friday morning.
Viramontes was allegedly attempting to burglarizing a home in the 2000 block of West 21st Street when a resident shot him about 9:10 a.m., authorities said.
Viramontes, 31, of the 2100 block of West Cermak Road, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The resident was not taken into custody for the shooting, police said.
