Willie Buie was fatally shot early Tuesday in a South Side alley.
Buie, 20, was standing with a group of males in an alley in the 7600 block of South Wallace Street when a gunman approached and opened fire at the group about 2:10 a.m., authorities said.
Buie, of the 7000 block of South Lowe Avenue, was shot in the head and body and died at the scene, authorities said.
Family members told DNAinfo Chicago that Buie was walking back from a nearby gas station with friends when he was shot. She said her son produced music under the name “King Gunna.”
Nobody has been charged in the murder.
Area South detectives are investigating.
