Cesar Torres has been charged for a 2013 shooting that left Ricardo Herrera dead and two others wounded in the Little Village neighborhood, authorities said.
Torres, 22, of the 3000 block of South Kenneth Avenue, was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder, police announced early Monday.
Torres is accused of fatally shooting Herrera, 21, on June 15, 2013 in the 2500 block of South Ridge Avenue, authorities said. Herrera was walking with two other men when Torres approached and opened fire on the trio.
Herrera, of the 2400 block of South Marshall Boulevard, was dead at the scene, authorities said. The other men were treated at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Torres was later identified as the gunman and arrested, police said. He is expected in court for a bond hearing later Monday.
