Corey Brownlee was killed and a woman was injured in an early Sunday shooting in the Washington Park neighborhood.
Brownlee and the woman were in the rear of his home in the 6000 block of South Indiana Avenue when shots were fired about 2:40 a.m., authorities said.
Brownlee, 32, was shot in the chest and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The 27-year-old woman was shot in the lower right leg and taken to Stroger, police said.
Nobody has been charged in the murder.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
