David M. Hernandez has died after being shot Sunday night in the Bridgeport neighborhood.
Hernandez, 25, was in the 900 block of West 32nd Place when a blue vehicle drove up and an occupant got out and opened fire about 5:40 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
He was shot twice in the head, police said. The shooter then got back into the vehicle and drove away.
Hernandez, of the 6000 block of South Lorel Avenue, was pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m. Monday at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area Central detectives are investigating if the shooting was gang related.
