Brian Weekly was killed in an early Saturday shooting in the Washington Park neighborhood that left another man critically wounded.
Weekly, 18, was shot multiple times in an alley in the 5600 block of South Wabash Avenue about 1:30 a.m., authorities said. A 20-year-old man was also shot multiple times.
Weekly, of the 1400 block of West 79th Street, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The 20-year-old was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, police said.
At least 20 people, including family and friends, were gathered on the corner of 56th Street and Wabash as police investigated.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
