Orlando Lomax was stabbed and beaten to death Friday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
Lomax, 28, was walking on a sidewalk in the 3900 block of West North Avenue when four males walked up and started a fight about 11:30 p.m., authorities said.
During the fight, Lomax was stabbed in the back, authorities said.
Lomax, of the 1500 block of North Karlov, died at Mount Sinai Hospital minutes later, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy confirmed that Lomax died from both a stab wound and blunt trauma to the head, according to the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area North detectives are investigating.
