Andre Byrd was killed in an Austin community shooting that left two other men wounded early Sunday.
The men were at a backyard party in the 5000 block of West Potomac Avenue when someone came out of an alley and opened fire about 2 a.m., police said.
Byrd, 33, of the 200 block of North Kolin Avenue, was shot in the chest and died at the scene, authorities said.
A 35-year-old man was shot in the chest, elbow and hip and was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said. A 36-year-old man was shot in the back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area North detectives are investigating.
