Autopsy: Victor Ramirez beaten, intentionally run over by car in Little Village

Victor Ramirez died after being beaten and run over by a car in the Little Village neighborhood early Sunday.

Ramirez, 23, was walking in the 4100 block of West 26th Street when a group in two passing sport-utility vehicles began yelling gang slogans at him about 5:30 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.

A fight ensued and Ramirez, of the 3000 block of West 41st Street, was beaten and kicked, authorities said. The attackers then got back into their SUVs and ran over Ramirez while making a U-turn.

He died a short time later at an area hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A Monday autopsy determined Ramirez died of multiple injuries from an assault and the death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Nobody has been charged for the killing.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
