Anthony Jackson was fatally shot in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
Jackson, 22, was in a vehicle traveling north in the 700 block of North Hamlin Avenue when a car pulled alongside and somebody inside opened fire about 2:10 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
Jackson, of the 300 block of West Lexington Street, was shot in the back and died at Mount Sinai Hospital less than an hour later, authorities said.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area North detectives are investigating.
