Krystal Jackson killed in West Englewood shooting

A 25-year-old woman was killed in a West Englewood shooting that left two other people injured Wednesday night.

Krystal T. Jackson was inside a vehicle with a 21-year-old woman and 27-year-old man when a gunman walked up and opened fire in the 6800 block of South Loomis Boulevard about 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

After the shooting, the motorist drove to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.

Jackson, 25, of the 7700 block of South Saginaw Avenue, was shot multiple times and died at the hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The man was shot in the head and shoulder and transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said. The other woman was shot in the leg and treated at Holy Cross Hospital.

Nobody has been charged for the murder.

Area South detectives are investigating.
