Two men killed in Back of the Yards shooting

Two men were killed in a Back of the Yards shooting that left another person wounded Sunday night.

The three were shot during a drive-by shooting in the 5000 block of South May Street about 3:40 p.m., authorities said.

Bobby Norwood, 24, of the 5000 block of South Aberdeen Street, was shot in the chest and died at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County less than an hour later, authorities said.

Jonathan Lewis, 29, of the 5300 block of South May Street, was shot in the back and also declared dead at Stroger Hospital less than an hour later, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The third man, 25, was shot in both legs and his right arm, police said. He was hospitalized in serious condition.

Nobody has been charged for the murders.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
