The death of a 79-year-old woman who died after a “suspicious” fire earlier this month in the East Garfield Park neighborhood has been ruled a homicide.

Margaret Noble was injured during fire that started about 3 a.m. March 8 at her coach house in the 300 block of South Albany Avenue, authorities said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze about 40 minutes after arriving, authorities said.

Noble died Saturday from carbon monoxide intoxication, and smoke and soot inhalation, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, which ruled the death a homicide. Heart disease was listed as a secondary cause of death.

A 39-year-old man was also critically injured in the blaze, authorities said.

The police Bomb & Arson Section determined the fire was suspicious, police said.

Nobody has been charged for the killing.

Area North detectives and the Bomb & Arson Section are investigating.
