Eric Langham died more than nine months after he was shot while driving in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood.
Langham, 22, told investigators he was shot July 21, 2014, while driving near South Laporte Avenue and West 46th Street, authorities said.
After being shot, Langham pulled into a nearby parking lot in the 5100 block of South Cicero Avenue and called police, authorities said.
Langham, of the 4400 block of South Lavergne Avenue, died at 6:45 p.m. Monday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy determined Langham died from complications of multiple gunshot wounds, and the death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Nobody has been charged for the killing.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
