Three men charged with 2014 murder of Corey Williams in Auburn Gresham

Three men have been charged with murder for the fatal shooting of Corey Williams last year in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

Cordarius Lawrence, 24, of the 8000 block of South Marshfield; Darryl Wilson, 21, of the 8100 block of South Justine; and 24-year-old Joshua Martin of the 10600 block of South Church were each charged with first-degree murder for the fatal shooting on Feb. 6, 2014, police said.

Williams, 29, suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest in the 8100 block of South Marshfield Avenue about 2:15 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

When officers arrived, they found him bleeding and unresponsive on the sidewalk, police said.

Williams, of the 6000 block of South Marshfield Avenue, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead, the medical examiner’s office said.

All three men were expected to appear in bond court Saturday.
