Ruben Quispe-Trujillo, 24, faces one count of first-degree murder for the attack that happened about 3 a.m. Monday outside a home in the 1900 block of North Rockwell, according to Chicago Police.

He and Campos were drinking when they got into an argument and Quispe-Trujillo pulled out a large knife, stabbing Campos in the chest, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Campos, 26, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:11 a.m. Both men were residents of the block where the stabbing happened, authorities said.

Quispe-Trujillo ran away from the scene but was arrested nearby, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday afternoon.
