Charzelle Harris was killed in a North Lawndale neighborhood shooting that also left an 18-year-old man injured early Saturday on the West Side.
About 1 a.m., the 25-year-old Harris was in the 3500 block of West Grenshaw when a light-colored van pulled up and someone inside opened fire, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Harris was shot several times in the chest and arm; and officers later learned that an 18-year-old man was grazed by a bullet in the same incident.
Harris, of the 3000 block of West Flournoy, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead 20 minutes later, authorities said. The other man’s condition had stabilized at an unknown hospital.
