Cass L. Singleton was driving in the South Side Washington park neighborhood Tuesday night when shots rang out, leaving the 26-year-old dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Singleton was driving southbound in the 5900 block of South State when a gunman got out of a red car and opened fire, along with several other males standing on the sidewalk, about 9:40 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Singleton, of the 5000 block of South Aberdeen, was shot multiple times, including at least once in the head, authorities said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
