One of two men killed in Uptown shooting identified as Robert Anderson


Robert Anderson was one of two men killed in a shooting early Wednesday in Uptown.

The attack happened at 2:17 a.m. in the 5000 block of North Winthrop, Chicago Police said.

Anderson, 34, of the 7900 block of South Ridgeland, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A 32-year-old man, whose identity had not been released as of Thursday afternoon, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Both men suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Detectives are investigating whether the shootings were gang-related.
