Man found dead in crashed car in West Pullman identified 38-year-old James Mitchell


A man found shot to death in a car Wednesday night in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side has been identified as 38-year-old James Mitchell.

Mitchell was found with a gunshot wound in the driver’s seat of a car about 10 p.m. after the car crashed into the side of a building in the 100 block of East 127th Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Mitchell, of the 8400 block of South Maryland Avenue, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper back and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
